Job Summary
Diagnose and treat diseases and conditions of the male and female urinary tract and of the male reproductive system. The urologist focuses on the kidneys, uterus, urethra, urinary bladder, and all male reproductive organs.
Essential Functions:
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patient conditions and disorders of the genitourinary organs and tracts. (20%)
- Document and review patients' histories. (15%)
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. (15%)
- Use specialized equipment, such as X-rays, fluoroscopes, and catheters. (15%)
- Perform abdominal, pelvic, or retroperitoneal surgeries when necessary. (10%)
- Treat lower urinary tract dysfunctions. (5%)
- Prescribe and administer antibiotics, antiseptics, or compresses to treat infections or injuries. (5%)
- Prescribe medications for patients with erectile dysfunction, infertility, or ejaculation problems. (5%)
- Provide Urology consultations or referring patients to specialists. (5%)
- Direct nurses, residents, or other staff. (5%)
Education:
- Doctorate Degree Required
Work Experience:
Licenses:
- MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
- Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
- Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
- Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
- Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
- Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Computer skills required.
- Computer skills preferred.

Salary $332,200.00 - $425,100.00 / yr
