Position Summary The Proteomics Shared Resource at Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, Columbia University Medical Center, New York is seeking a full-time technician, who will be involved in the discovery and targeted proteomic analysis to support the multidisciplinary investigators at CUMC. Responsibilities Preparation of samples from cells, tissues, and biofluids for proteomics workflow including protein isolation, digestion, TMT tagging, and peptide clean-up. Operating and maintaining multiple mass spectrometers. Troubleshooting state-of-the-art Orbitrap Fusion, TimsTOF Pro mass spectrometers, and Dionex nanoLC systems. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree and at least three years experience, or Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related experience or equivalent in education, training, and experience. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS in proteomics sample preparation for mass spectrometry are a plus, but not required. Other Requirements Experience in conducting method development for HPLC and/or mass spectrometry. Experience in cell culture to grow various cell lines for proteomics method developments. Knowledge of mass spectrometry database search algorithms. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Detailed oriented, organized, able to work independently, and curious to learn new techniques.
