Job Summary |
The Intellectual Property Exchange team seeks candidates for a temporary position that will be responsible for administrative responsibilities that support the work of the department in administering the transfer of technology.
This will include clerical duties such as:
- Filing and answering phones.
- Entering information into databases and document management.
answer multi-line phone, manage files, and other data relevant to technology transfer activities into the technology transfer database. Verifies the completeness and accuracy of information entered and corrects/modifies the database records as needed, and other duties as assigned.
Temporary Employment Services (
TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university.
TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
- Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
- Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
- Assistance with special projects
- Seasonal work
- Emergencies

Essential Functions |
- Answer Multi line phone.
- Manage files.
- Enters executed legal agreements into the technology transfer database, which includes license agreements, nondisclosure agreements, material transfer agreements, and option agreements.
- Reads and interprets the terms of agreement to ensure accurate recording for the management of each agreement, which includes but is not limited to the compliance of the agreement, dates, maintenance fees, payments, and/or non-financial items for the life of the agreement.
- Maintains records to include identifying and posting all agreement terms into the
- Database and maintaining proper hard copy files.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Expectations
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality concerning AU research, intellectual property and legal agreements
- Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills
- Attention to detail, good keyboarding skills (accuracy over speed),
- Ability to work well with others in a team setting,
- Problem-solving skills
- Time management and organization/prioritization of work duties
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- All applicants must be 18 years of age or older before May 1st.

Preference will be given to candidates with office administration experience. |
