Position Summary: The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment of occupation-specific courses leading to industry-ready completers. Reporting to the CTE Director, Adjunct Faculty positions in Career and Technical Education are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. See Ruidoso.enmu.edu or call 575-315-1120 for current Career and Technical Education offerings and openings. Compensation is $750/credit hour taught or $500/course for dual-credit instructors. Duties and Responsibilities:
* Teaching courses to include live, on-line, hybrid and Blackboard supplemental courses during days, evenings, and weekends at multiple campus locations * Plan and create experiences, projects, lectures, discussions, and assignments based on course outcomes and objectives. * Record grades based on participation, performance, assignments, and examinations. * Complete Canvas Basics 3hr training before class starts and Quality Matters introductory course during the first year of teaching. * Maintain professional and academic competencies and licenses/certificates as required by the teaching assignment * Participate in mandatory department/campus meetings and activities * Customize the approved course syllabi provided by the department chair * Recommend course materials to department chair * Participate in activities that support student retention and program completion * Be aware of and follow classroom safety and emergency procedures * Assess, evaluate, and document student mastery of the skills and competencies as required by the course objectives provided within the syllabus * Submit electronically and on time all required documents and reports, to include: customized syllabi, roster certification, mid-term and final grades, electronic grade books, and course rubrics * Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
A Master's degree from an accredited university in closely related field or approved industry experience and certifications

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
Work is performed inside in a non-smoking facility during normal daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Interaction with the public is required; working environment can be loud with multiple voices and telephones; air can be dry and/or dusty. Work is sedentary in nature with ten (10) pounds weight lifted and carried frequently with occasional weights of up to forty (40) pounds lifted and carried.
