In 2018, The
UGA Tifton Campus began a yearlong Centennial celebration with various events to commemorate its 100th anniversary of providing updated research to the community.
Research is done on a wide range of commodities, including cotton, peanuts, vegetables and turf grass, all of which make agriculture the No. 1 industry in Georgia.
In 2004, a teaching program was initiated and it has been growing ever since. College-level instruction on campus is aimed at undergraduate and graduate-degree level study. |

Position Summary |
This position is part of the Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health at the University of Georgia - Tifton Campus (Bugwood). The Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health develops, maintains and hosts a large number of digital tools and resources including web, smartphone, and database applications.
This incumbent is responsible for working with center staff, federal and state agencies, and other stakeholders to maintain and develop the Bugwood digital resources. They also serve a leading role in web application development. The Application Programmer Associate must have a working knowledge of programming languages such as NodeJS, ColdFusion, Python and JavaScript.
Additional familiarity and experience with front-end frameworks such as React or Svelte would be a benefit. The job requires understanding of how to create web applications that provide users with efficient and effective means of interacting with data. |
