Position Summary |
Technical and professional responsibilities associated with this position include field and laboratory research and diagnostics related to wildlife health. Included will be both the supervision of others doing this work and active participation in completing these tasks. Also included, is the supervisory responsibility of field and laboratory equipment maintenance (equipment and supplies) and assuring that all safety and regulatory requirements are met. Precise records are required. Assistance in planning and selection of sampling and diagnostic approaches related to research projects and diagnostic samples, including assistance with both grant and manuscript preparation, also will be required. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
Basic skills related to wildlife biology and wildlife disease investigations (including necropsy and approved euthanasia techniques) and research. Experience with organizing and maintaining large data sets. Experience with work related to infectious pathogens and the maintenance of biosafety standards in the field. |
