Formwork Carpenter
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Formwork Carpenter is
responsible for field operations on the project(s) assigned to achieve safe,
quality, and profitable projects completed in a timely manner. This position
must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills
and strong communication.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety
- Promotes Manhattan's culture of "Safety First"
- Project safety implementation and management in accordance with Manhattan's Safety Program
- Interacts with the Superintendent and Safety Manager to ensure a safe workplace
- Enforces Site Specific Safety Plans by enforcing Manhattan's rules; this includes your workers, other crews, and any trade on-site
Operational
- Be familiar with and follow Manhattan Construction Company Policies
- Gather materials to handle on job sites
- Knowledgeable in the use and safety of power tools
- Build and align form systems
- Construct scaffolding and platforms
- Use measuring tools to ensure accuracy
- Maintains working relationships with internal and external clients
- Provide support to the concrete foreman with project layout and elevation shooting
- Take the measurement and cut materials to build forms for placing concrete
- Manage schedules and ensure all activities occur on or before scheduled dates.

WORK CONDITIONS
AND HOURS:
Conditions and hours
- Works on-site over rough terrain
- Requires overtime hours
- Often exposed to the elements
- Must be comfortable with travel on a need-to-need basis
- Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
- Some weekends are required
- Frequent activity of Standing, Kneeling, Walking, Climbing, Bending, reaching above Shoulders, Pushing, and Pulling
- Must be able to climb and work at heights above 6 feet
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Education
Work Experience
- Two (2) years of construction experience
- One (1) year of concrete formwork experience
