Position Summary
- Contribute to the development and implementation of communications strategies that support brand objectives in collaboration with the commercial, medical and advocacy teams.
- Manage brand-related social media tactical implementation, including:
- Social media pages about TED; emphasis on Facebook and Instagram
- Social media content creation/curation, community management, development of social media graphics (occasionally as needed)
- Influencer mapping and engagement
- Analyze social media performance to optimize programs and ongoing content.
- Work closely with the publications team to stay on top of upcoming data publications and presentations at medical congresses and drive the promotional plan, including press releases, social media tactics and media outreach.
- Support the team's development of multimedia content elevating medicines, associated disease states, patient stories and Horizon leadership; manage all aspects of content creation including ideation, multiple layers of review and distribution.
- Craft FAQs, press releases, presentations, and develop communications materials in support of brand initiatives, programs and events for both internal and external audiences as appropriate.
- Manage the development of stories and pitches for media outreach; manage and guide external agencies around appropriate media pitches, spokespeople and message training.
- Work closely with advocacy relations team on communications initiatives that drive both Horizon and our advocacy partners' goals.
- Collaborate with corporate communications team to integrate brand-related initiatives into corporate communications efforts such as:
- Employee communications, including employee intranet site
- External communications, including HorizonPharma.com and several social media platforms
- Support the creation of messaging and response documents anticipating and addressing crisis and issues.
- Ensure product marketing content is aligned with the organization's brand and formatted to drive positive customer behavior.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a communications or public relations role.
- Demonstrated social media strategy and execution experience, including Facebook/Instagram community management.
- Able to manage multiple priorities, establishing and maintaining effective and efficient channels of communication with new media and opinion leaders.
- Self-motivated with outstanding interpersonal, team, and collaboration skills.
- Innovative thinker with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action-oriented plans and developing/implementing new creative initiatives.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills aimed at executives and a variety of audiences.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Requires approximately 20% travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments.
Preferred:
- Healthcare industry experience (either public relations agency or in-house biotechnology pharmaceutical company).
- Experience with managing social media campaigns specifically in the pharma/healthcare space.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into consumer-facing messages and materials.
