Clinical Veterinarian LARC Operations Full Time 74285BR Job Summary Evaluates and treats research animals coming into UCSF. Independently performs routine Veterinarian duties and can direct animal health technicians in providing animal care. When needed receives supervision or guidance for cases. Has interest in veterinary and husbandry needs of all research species, including aquatics. Ensures assigned activities adhere to Protocols and applicable USDA, NIH and AAALAC regulations and rules. Participates in the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) processes and oversight functions. Performs on-call, after hours veterinary coverage. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role. For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. Department Description The Laboratory Animal Resource Center is a recharge department providing veterinary care and housing services for all animals used in biomedical research and teaching. LARC provides veterinary medical care and husbandry services, assures compliance with laws and regulations concerning the use of animals in research, and veterinary medical advice to UCSF researchers.
