Position Summary |
This individual paints walls, equipment, buildings, bridges, and other structural surfaces, using brushes, rollers, and spray guns. Task will include varnishing, staining, shellacking desks, doors, cabinets, moldings and floors. The painter will also remove old paint to prepare surfaces prior to painting and may mix colors or oils to obtain a desired color or consistency. The painter maintains all interior and exterior finished surfaces including sheet rock repair. This person will protect non-target areas as necessary with tarps, plastic and drop cloths. Operation and use of a scissor lift to reach elevated surfaces will be required. It is expected the painter will make use of all the proper
PPE such as Tyvek suits, face shields, goggles, respirators, gloves, chemical spill kits, etc.
The painter will maintain accurate records of color codes for each building. They will also maintain up to date inventories of supplies and materials related to paints and stains. This position will involve the use of a P-Card. The person in this role will also assist with updating Safety Data Sheets across the center for all materials.
The painter will assist with cleaning windows, building eaves, doors, entry ways and pressure washing buildings and sidewalks.
This employee will be a member of the maintenance department. All maintenance team members assist with responding to work orders, general maintenance, and assisting with emergency repairs across the 4-H center. |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Solid communication skills and willingness to interact in a positive way with guests are necessary.
- The person in this role must be able to self-initiate and work independently.
- All Rock Eagle 4-H Center staff should be service oriented.
- Ability to obtain Certified Pool Operators certification. General knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
- Willingness to acquire other professional certifications (Drinking/ Waste Water, Underground Tanks, Pesticides, CDL-A, Certified Pool Operator, etc.)
