Adjunct Instructor in Industrial Design

Position Summary:
The NJIT School of Art
& Design is recruiting a pool of applicants interested in teaching classes
in the Industrial Design program on an ongoing basis. Qualified
applicants not able to take on a class in a particular semester would continue
to be considered in future semesters. Adjunct instructors will be given the
learning objectives and requirements for each class assigned.

Essential Functions:
Teaching: Integrate core concepts from past courses into the one being taught. Communicate with students, faculty and administration on student progress throughout the semester.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
Must possess a design-related Bachelor's
degree from an accredited institution or a bachelor's degree with appropriate
industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior teaching
experience is particularly welcome. Advanced Degree preferred. Depending
on the course, the instructor would need to have relevant experience in
creative, analytical, or synthetic design areas. Hands-on knowledge of course
topics is desired (e.g., knowledge of CNC manufacturing and the ability to
teach CAM, knowledge of arduino programming, marketing, UI/UX, use of digital
software to produce and evaluate design work, etc.).
