About the Job

The Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology and the University of Minnesota Medical School invite applications for tenure-track faculty positions in all areas of biomedical science. We seek outstanding scientists who will establish a competitive extramurally funded research program that focuses on studies from an integrative molecular to systems physiology perspective.

Areas of particular interest include cellular and molecular metabolism, cardiovascular and muscle biology, aging biology, stress and endocrinology, immunometabolism, and sterile inflammation. Successful applicants will align with and further enrich the department's collective expertise in the physiological and molecular bases of metabolic, diabetes-related, cardiovascular, skeleto-muscular, inflammatory, and aging-associated diseases. Investigators with a focus on systems or computational biology are also eligible if their research integrates animal models of human disease.

Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate, graduate and medical student instruction.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent in a relevant field of study, plus applicable postdoctoral or faculty experience. A creative and innovative research program is essential, including a high impact publication record. All faculty levels will be considered. Current funding is not required for Assistant Professor applications. Applicants for Associate or Full Professor must have an established track record of competitive extramural NIH funding.
