The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, is dedicated to training future veterinarians, providing services to animal owners and veterinarians, and conducting investigations to improve the health of animals as well as people. Position Summary
The Lee lab in the University of Georgia ( UGA) is seeking a team oriented and highly motivated incumbent for the full-time position of Research Professional. The Lee lab studies the role of innate immune cells in the progression of Lewy body diseases. We utilize a combination of in vivo and in vitro models of synucleinopathies to uncover the interaction between innate immune cells and abnormal protein aggregates utilizing a preclinical models of Lewy body disease. Dr. Lee is affiliated with the Department of Physiology & Pharmacology, Neuroscience Program, Regenerative Bioscience Center, Biomedical & Health Science Institute, and Integrated Life Sciences Program in University of Georgia. Dr. Lee encourages her trainees to attend weekly interactions with colleagues, attending departmental seminars, and attending scientific conferences. The employee is needed, but are not limited to, designing and carry out his/her own research projects, directing daily operations of a project team, and maintaining protocol. Responsibilities may also include data collection, analysis, and interpretation, maintaining equipment, and presenting research findings to other staff or at conferences. A research professional typically reports to a research and public service manager and may supervise other research professionals or paraprofessionals.
