Adjunct - Automotive Technology

Credit part-time, adjunct faculty teaching positions will teach, lecture, and instruct laboratory coursework in various Automotive and Automotive-related curriculum. This teaching position requires knowledge of necessary automotive skills related to traditional automotive components, emphasizing Mopar CAP, GM ASEP, Subaru University, and or Global Automotive experience. Candidate must have experience teaching generic automotive courses and possess extensive hands-on experience in performing diagnosis and repair of gasoline engines, automatic transmission/transaxles, manual drivetrains & axles, steering suspension & alignment, brakes, electrical, heating & air conditioning, and engine performance. Experience as an instructor in a higher education setting is preferred.

Credit adjunct leads teaching discussions in the topics listed above. Candidates should have experience extending beyond theoretical knowledge into practical usage and understanding of core Automotive Technology components and diagnostics and repair processes. The credentials you will teach will include certificate programs, specialized diplomas, associate's degree candidates, and students continuing to complete a four-year program.

Classes include morning, afternoon, and evening schedules and will require laboratory preparation time in addition to lecture time.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in a related area from a regionally accredited college or university required. A minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of recent, relevant professional work experience in the automobile repair field is required.ASE Master Certified Technician credentials a must.Ability to use common software programs (MS Word/Excel/Outlook etc.), excellent verbal and written communication skills, and great interpersonal skills required.Experience with GMASEP, MoparCap, or Subaru University curriculum would be helpful.

Some form of academic instruction at the college level, including associate's degree level or above, would be desirable but not required in place of experience. The ability to convey essential concepts to students following a prescribed curriculum is necessary.
