Now Hiring: Prototype Automotive Painter Location: Dearborn, MI Pay Rate: $35.62/hour Schedule: Fully onsite Bring high-end automotive concepts to life. We're hiring an experienced Prototype Automotive Painter to produce professional, high-quality finishes on advanced vehicle prototypes while collaborating with design, engineering, and fabrication teams. Job Duties Prepare surfaces through filling, sanding, cleaning, masking, and priming Mix and apply automotive paints, coatings, and multi-tone finishes Set up spray equipment and maintain proper application and film build Cut, polish, and correct finished surfaces by hand and machine Match approved standards for color, gloss, and texture Troubleshoot paint defects and develop practical finishing solutions Collaborate with design, engineering, and fabrication teams Support prototype build schedules, quality standards, and project milestones Follow all shop procedures and safety requirements Qualifications Associate degree required 3+ years of automotive painting experience, including rapid prototypes 5+ years of paint preparation and bodywork experience 3+ years working collaboratively with design and engineering teams Strong problem-solving, technical communication, and teamwork skills Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, changing prototype environment Employee Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance 401(k) Retirement Savings Plans Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Commuter/Parking Accounts People Perks Health Savings Account (HSA) AD&D Insurance Apply Now Put your automotive painting expertise to work on exciting prototype projects.
