Position Title: Structural Assembler
Wage: $20.00-$21.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 5:30am-4:00pm Monday-Thursday QPS Employment Group is hiring a Structural Assembler for a company in Houston, TX. This is an opportunity for hire role on 1st shift. Structural Assembler Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications to determine assembly requirements. - Measure, mark, cut, fit, and assemble structural components according to drawings and specifications - Assemble structural frames, bases, platforms, supports, and other components used in custom equipment and electrical systems - Work with structural steel materials, including C-channel, I-beam, angle iron, plate, and other fabricated components - Use hand tools and power tools such as drills, impact drivers, grinders, measuring tools, and torque tools - Drill, bolt, fasten, and secure structural components according to engineering and production requirements - Verify dimensions, alignment, fit, and overall quality of completed assemblies - Identify material, drawing, or assembly issues and communicate them to the Lead or Supervisor - Follow production drawings, work instructions, quality requirements, and established manufacturing procedures - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area - Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety policies and procedures - Assist with material handling and positioning of structural components as required - Work cooperatively with Structural Assemblers, Welders, Fitters, Electrical Assemblers, Leads, and Supervisors to complete projects - Meet established production schedules while maintaining quality standards - Inspect completed work for accuracy and report any defects or discrepancies - Properly care for and maintain tools and equipment - Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead or Supervisor Structural Assembler Requirements: - Previous experience in structural assembly, fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or a related hands-on trade preferred - Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, drawings, measurements, and work instructions - Basic knowledge of hand and power tools - Ability to use measuring tools such as a tape measure, square, level, and other basic layout tools - Ability to read, write, and communicate in English - Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment - Ability to follow written and verbal instructions - Ability to work effectively as part of a team - U.S. work authorization without sponsorship required - Ability to pass required physical, drug, and background checks - Ability to physically push, pull, lift, and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more - Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and work in various positions for extended periods - Alignment with company's core values required - 1+ years of experience in structural assembly, steel fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or related field - Experience assembling structural steel or industrial equipment - Experience working from industrial or fabrication drawings - Experience using power tools, impact drivers, grinders, drills, and other shop equipment - Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment - Experience with electrical equipment, switchgear, electrical enclosures, or packaged equipment is a plus - Welding or fitting experience is a plus IND999 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
