Position Title: Packaging
Wage: $18.45 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 5:00am-3:00pm Join a dynamic packaging team in a food manufacturing environment, where you'll contribute to the efficient and safe production of high-quality products. This role offers hands-on experience in food packaging operations with opportunities for growth within a supportive team. Packaging Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Operate and set up packaging line machinery including tapers, cutters, labelers, and scales. - Load machines, apply labels, and assist in bagging and scaling products. - Box and palletize finished products according to safety and quality standards. - Perform cutting tasks using small paring knives as needed. - Conduct sanitation duties, including cleaning and chemical handling, in compliance with safety protocols. - Report unsafe conditions or practices to plant management. - Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). - Assist with the use of powered pallet lift trucks when applicable. - Maintain personal hygiene standards and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Packaging Requirements: - Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, and squatting throughout shifts. - Capable of frequently lifting up to 40 lbs. and working on knees or ladders for inspections and cleaning. - Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and wearing PPE such as aprons, bump caps, chemical-resistant gloves, rubber boots, ear plugs, face shields, and safety glasses. - Must be able to work on-site in a wet, sometimes cool and noisy environment. - No prior experience required, but previous manufacturing or sanitation experience is helpful.
