Tempel Steel is looking for Press Operators to join our manufacturing team.

In this hands-on role, you'll operate production press equipment, make machine adjustments, and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards. We're looking for dependable, mechanically inclined individuals who take pride in their work and enjoy working in a manufacturing environment.

Pay: Starting at $22/hour + shift diff, with potential for higher starting pay based on experience
Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:00 PM-10:00 PM
Training: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM-2:00 PM for approximately 1-2 months

What You'll Do

• Safely operate production press equipment to meet quality and production goals.
• Set up equipment and make adjustments to maintain product specifications.
• Read work orders, job instructions, and blueprints.
• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools and established quality procedures.
• Identify quality issues and make necessary machine adjustments.
• Prepare, label, and move finished materials to the next production stage.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in manufacturing, machine operation, or a related production environment preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow work instructions and perform quality inspections.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
• Dependability and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including occasionally lifting up to 70 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Forklift and crane training can be provided after hire.

Work Schedule & Training

This is a 2nd-shift position working 2:00 PM-10:00 PM. New hires must be available to complete approximately 1-2 months of initial training on 1st shift, 6:00 AM-2:00 PM, before transitioning to their regular schedule.
