Delivery Platform System Administrator

Description

The Delivery Platform - System Administrator is responsible for configuring, supporting, and optimizing Jira Software to enable effective product development and delivery across engineering and product teams. This role owns Jira Software project setup, workflows, screens, boards, and permissions, ensuring configurations align with agile best practices and organizational governance standards. The administrator partners closely with product managers, engineering leaders, and delivery teams to support Scrum, Kanban, and scaled agile methodologies, implement automations, and manage integrations with development tools such as CI/CD pipelines and source control systems. They provide ongoing support, onboarding, and guidance to teams, resolve complex configuration issues, and ensure Jira Software scales reliably and consistently for a large enterprise user base.

Essential Functions:

• Atlassian, Implement defined target-state workflows and manage work item migrations.
• Document and validate workflow standards and governance practices to ensure long-term consistency.
• Administer Atlassian products including Jira, Confluence, and applications such as Xray and ScriptRunner at the system level.
• Configure and support projects, spaces, permissions, users, roles, reporting, dashboards, custom fields, issue security, and add-ons.
• Create and manage users, groups, projects, and permission structures.
• Create Jira projects, JQL queries, filters, dashboards, and reports.
• Troubleshoot access, configuration, and performance issues, engaging Atlassian or third-party vendors when required.
• Understand system architecture and evaluate upstream and downstream impacts when implementing solutions.
• Create and maintain documentation related to processes, policies, system configurations, and end-user support materials.

Typical Scope:

• Understands the key business drivers and uses this knowledge in own work. Works independently and may lead small projects or influence decisions.
• Applies practical and theoretical knowledge of job area with a growing understanding of functional area and specialized discipline. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to work on problems affecting single functional areas or specific project components. Gains exposure to complex tasks.
• Typically receives general instructions on routine work. Works independently on most tasks but is occasionally directed. Accountable for assigned tasks and projects.

Education & Experience:

• Required Education: Bachelors degree in field relevant to role (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
• Required Experience: 2 - 4 years of relevant experience

Role Specific Expectations and Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience as a Jira andConfluence Administrator.
• ACP-120 certification preferred
• Hands-on experience customizing Jira projects, workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
• Strong knowledge of Jira Query Language (JQL).
• Experience with Atlassian products such as Jira Software, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, Xray.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Work Environment & Conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Ability to travel infrequently (less than 10% of the time)
• Ability to remain stationary (sitting or standing) for at least 50% of time worked
• Must be able to communicate effectively in person and via digital platforms with other employees, members, and third-party vendors
• Capable of operating appropriate office equipment required for employee productivity, including use of keyboards
• Possess the ability to function independently
• Ability to lift up to a minimum of 10 lbs. (maybe more for some roles)
• Role may require extended hours during peak periods (e.g., fiscal close, audits, etc.)

• Hybrid Work Environment in Marlborough, MA or Hillsboro, OR
• Target Salary: $74,000.00-89,000.00
