Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Pharmacy Officer, provides high-level administrative support, engages with the pharmacy leadership team to support its officers. Utilizes initiative, judgment, and discretion in researching, analyzing, and compiling necessary information to assist management in responding to a wide variety of complex issues; research issues and initiates an array of correspondence on behalf of the pharmacy leadership team; independently assumes responsibility for issues that do not require direct involvement from pharmacy supervisors and applies problem-solving techniques to resolve various situations. As primary support to pharmacy leaders, is responsive to administrative and clerical requests through verbal and/or written communication; responds to a wide variety of inquiries through interactions with staff, residents, and the public; determining priorities of meetings and resolving scheduling conflicts as needed; provides support for meetings and travel. - Bachelor's degree in related area, or equivalent experience or training
- Experience establishing goals and workload priorities and organizing and coordinating multiple complex projects with competing deadlines
- Experience supporting senior leaders and coordinate communication with staff
- Experience using interpersonal, customer service and communication skills to interact and communicate in-person, over the phone, through electronic e-mail, etc.
- Strong writing skills and experience writing, editing, and proofreading documents to respond on behalf of pharmacy leaders quickly and accurately using proper grammar, style, and format
- Analytical skills to anticipate or identify problems, to research and interpret data, to present analysis, and to develop solutions for resolution and implementation
- Excellent attention-to-detail and organizational skills in all areas of work
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues that require independent judgment and discretion, maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive, confidential and/or privileged information
- Computer skills to apply various programs (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, etc.) to accomplish daily work
- Professional skills to handle sensitive or difficult situations diplomatically, and to collaborate with constituents from diverse backgrounds and perspectives

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite, including calendaring using Outlook
- Experience with UCD automated systems, such as Aggie Travel, EcoTime, and OnBase filing system
- Knowledge of campus-wide offices, services and contacts, and campus policies and procedures to interpret inquiries and requests to formulate appropriate action or response
- Knowledge of functions and operations of an administrative office
- Knowledge of basic financial and statistical record-keeping techniques
- Knowledge of methods of collecting and organizing data and information
- Knowledge of telephone techniques and etiquette
- Ability to coordinate flow of communications between pharmacy leadership, residents, and staff

The Department of Pharmacy is a dynamic, integral, and critical part of patient care provided by UC Davis Health. As a department of greater than 600 professional, technical, and administrative support personnel, we focus on providing patient-centered medication management that optimizes outcomes through practice, education, research, and leadership through the continuum of care. We also have the largest pharmacy residency program in the country with 46 total residents in 13 different programs.
The Department of Pharmacy offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps, and teaching) throughout the health system complex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The pharmacy services encompass inpatient pharmacy services as well as an expansive footprint in the ambulatory care space where we have clinical pharmacists embedded within our clinics and specialty care locations. Our operational teams support the health system enterprise with three inpatient pharmacies, five outpatient pharmacies, two infusion pharmacies, a home infusion service line, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores, and distribution.
