WHY UT SOUTHWESTERN? UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Heart, Lung, and Vascular team and support the development of a new cardiovascular access and triage model. This role will help improve access to specialty care by assessing patient needs and connecting patients with the appropriate cardiovascular subspecialty and provider. The APP will work collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams across cardiovascular specialties to assess and triage patients, identify clinical needs, and support the development of consistent care pathways. As a newly developed program, the APP will also have the opportunity to help establish workflows and contribute to the continued growth of the care model. This position is ideal for an experienced cardiovascular APP who is a self-starter, comfortable navigating change, collaborative across multiple specialties, and excited about helping build a new program. Schedule: Full-time, clinic-based position in Dallas working Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. ambulatory schedule. BENEFITS
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Experience Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in cardiovascular medicine required. The ideal candidate is collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working autonomously while partnering effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams across cardiovascular specialties. Education Graduate of a master's degree or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program. OR Master's degree or higher in nursing, documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population. Licensure and Certification Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Certification required. Licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board. OR Licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing. Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing. For Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) training or experience is preferred. Candidates with prior First Assist experience in the operating room, endocrine surgery experience, or a surgical background applicable to endocrine surgery are strongly preferred. Current applicable Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association or American Red Cross Life Support certification(s) based on UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers. JOB DUTIES
