Position Title: General Laborer
Wage: $19.00 - $20.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm (Monday - Friday) The General Laborer supports daily recycling operations by sorting, moving, and processing recyclable materials in a primarily outdoor environment. This is a physically demanding position that requires working in varying weather conditions while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, attendance, and teamwork. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, and comfortable performing hands-on labor throughout the workday. General Laborer Responsibilities: - Sort and separate recyclable materials according to company guidelines - Remove non-recyclable items, metal screws and other metal contaminants from plastic materials - Cut plastic materials using a Sawzall and other approved tools as needed for processing - Load, unload, stack and move materials throughout the recycling yard - Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area - Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) - Support equipment operators and other team members as needed - Perform general cleanup and labor duties throughout the facility - Work efficiently in a fast-paced outdoor environment Requirements for General Laborer: - High School Diploma or equivalent preferred - Previous experience in recycling, construction, landscaping, waste management, manufacturing, warehouse, or general labor is a plus - Experience using hand tools and power tools preferred - Strong work ethic and dependable attendance - Ability to work safely around moving equipment and machinery - Reliable transportation to and from work - Ability to pass company screening process - Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday - Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly - Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools, including a Sawzall - Ability to work in an outdoor work environment with varying temperatures and weather conditions IND153 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
