Description

This is a per diem/casual, non-benefited position with varied shifts (start times vary from 6:30am, 11am and 3pm), including weekends. Training will be 3-5 days a week for the first few months. This position will not be working in a phlebotomy area and will not require the CPT or BLS.

What you'll do:

  • Assist the Clinical Lab Scientist in the preanalytical and analytical testing of samples.
  • Proactively contribute to achieve team goals towards cost-effective, high quality patient care services.
  • You are instrumental in impacting the workflow processes to identify areas of improvement.
  • Answers phones and provides clerical support for the laboratory.
  • Ensures performance and safety standards are met.
  • Ensures inventory and supplies are stocked appropriately.
  • Serves as a liaison for the laboratory and interacts with physicians, nurses and customers to provide a positive outcome.
Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Good critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with medical terminology, with an understanding of computer systems.

Preferred experience:

  • Previous microbiology lab work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
