The Head of Tax role leads the US tax strategy for the Endress+Hauser Group, ensuring compliance with international and local tax regulations while supporting sustainable business growth. This role leads the US tax function and serves as a trusted business partner, providing guidance on transfer pricing, tax risk management, tax accounting, and mergers and acquisitions. Which tasks will you perform?
- Develop and execute the US tax strategy in alignment with Endress+Hauser's long-term business objectives and applicable laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Advise the business on tax-related business implications, risks, and opportunities, while monitoring developments in US tax legislation.
- Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting for US entities, including income tax, withholding tax, indirect tax obligations, AMT, BEAT, tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, and IFRS tax disclosures.
- Identify and mitigate tax risks, lead US tax audits and negotiations, manage external advisors, and maintain documentation supporting key tax positions.
- Implement the US transfer pricing strategy in the US, maintain compliant transfer pricing models, manage permanent establishment risks, and support dispute resolution with tax authorities.
- Drive standardization, automation, digitalization, and effective internal controls across tax processes and reporting.
- Provide tax guidance for acquisitions, divestments, restructurings, financing projects, intercompany transactions, service agreements, licensing models, and treasury structures.
What do we expect from you? You will have (required):
- Bachelor's degree in finance, legal studies, business administration, or related field, or 4 years' experience in lieu of degree
- 7-10 years of progressive US tax experience, including transfer pricing, international tax planning, and tax accounting
- CPA or equivalent advanced international tax qualification
- Deep knowledge of US taxation and IFRS tax accounting, with an understanding of treasury, accounting, and corporate finance processes
- Ability to travel up to 50% within the United States, infrequent international travel as needed
You may have (preferred):
- Master's degree in finance, law, taxation, accounting, economics, or related field
- Experience in a multinational industrial, technology, or decentralized group environment.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, tax technology, and data analytics tools
- Experience driving process standardization, automation, continuous improvement, and digitalization
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly, articulating complex technical issues, and engaging with individuals at all levels
- Ability to work and make informed decisions independently and on own initiative
- Builds and maintains strong, trustworthy business relationships, leveraging long-term partnerships to achieve collective success
- Prioritizes the customer perspective in business decisions by actively seeking to understand customer needs and problems, initiating solutions based on this understanding, and implementing feedback to enhance the overall experience and prevent future issues
