Job Description

OVERVIEW
The Equipment Engineering team, part of the Research & Development (R&D) organization at SealedAir, is a group of highly motivated, energetic, and bright individuals with a wide variety of skillsets. The mission of our team is to conceptualize, develop, and commercialize industrial foodpackaging systems that deliver value to our customers and support the growth of the global Sealed Airbusiness.
As a member of this team, you will work closely with fellow engineers, designers, technicians, Sales,Marketing, and Manufacturing to develop automation equipment and electro-mechanical assemblies.The scope of work in the R&D organization is broad and will provide opportunities to support projectconceptualization, planning, design, manufacturing, in-house testing, installation, troubleshooting, andthe development of supporting machine documentation.In this role, you will build and expand your design skills, manufacturing knowledge, business acumen,and professional skillset while developing as a technical contributor. The qualified individual will supportSealed Air's growth initiatives by helping create practical, reliable, and innovative equipment solutionsfor customers.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support the conceptualization and design of industrial food packaging equipment and automationsolutions.
* Create and revise 3D CAD models and 2D mechanical drawings using SolidWorks and similar CADsoftware.
* Assist with mechanical system analysis using engineering and scientific principles.
* Support the design, assembly, testing, and improvement of equipment and electro-mechanicalsystems.
* Participate in equipment testing, commissioning, training, and documentation activities.
* Complete and maintain CAD drawing packages, bills of material, assembly instructions, manuals,and other technical documentation.
* Support technical project plans by completing assigned deliverables, communicating status, andidentifying risks or resource needs.
* Support existing equipment solutions through design improvements and technology upgrades.
* Apply safe and hygienic design principles to equipment and components.
* Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to support customer opportunities and technical evaluations.
* Contribute to continuous improvement activities involving design, materials, and equipmentperformance.
* Support equipment reliability through training, knowledge sharing, and resolution of complextechnical issues.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or 5 to 8 years of relevant practical experience inmechanical design or equipment design.
* Working proficiency in 3D CAD design. SolidWorks experience is preferred.
* Ability to create, interpret, and revise mechanical drawings.
* Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.Sealed Air | Mechanical Engineering Job Requisition

* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team.
* Strong mechanical problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to creating technicalsolutions.
* Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Willingness to travel overnight and internationally as required by project needs,
* Availability to travel up to 20% annually.


Helpful Skills & Experience
* Familiarity with industrial equipment, automation, packaging equipment, or electro-mechanicalassemblies.
* Familiarity with stainless steel sheet metal, forming, and welding.
* Familiarity with stainless steel machining.
* Familiarity with equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
* Familiarity with Product Data Management systems.
* Familiarity with Design for Lean Six Sigma, Design for Manufacturing, or continuous improvementmethods.
* Exposure to technical project planning and execution.
* Familiarity with working with suppliers, contract manufacturers, or external fabrication partners.
* Food packaging equipment experience.
