JOB SUMMARY
Works under general supervision to provide professional skills in delivery of psychological services.

Candidate will assist with maintaining the test inventory, contacting patients, recruiting collateral participants to attend appointments with patients, and ensuring transportation arrangements are in place.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree in area of applied psychology or related field.

Preferred

  • Experience
    Education may be considered in lieu of experience.
    Previous testing experience.

JOB DUTIES

  • Administers a broad spectrum of psychometric assessments to include highly technical individually administered neuropsychological batteries and individually administered psychological batteries and computer-based tests under the general supervision of a psychologist or neuropsychologist.
  • Evaluates and responds to patient's needs during evaluation; manages patient behavior and controls testing environment to ensure accuracy of performance.
  • Consults with staff regarding unusual aspects of patient's condition or behavior which might indicate a change in tests ordered.
  • Consents patients for participation in research.
  • Scores psychological and neuropsychological tests according to normative standards and judgment by using test manuals and computer scoring programs.
  • Records and compiles a summary of data and of patient's test results; prepares standard reports.
  • Provides thorough documentation of observation of patient's behavior during testing.
  • Assists with quality control.
  • Attends to routine administrative details relating to operation of a psychological clinic/laboratory.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Work requires exercise of moderate judgment in application and interpretation of policies and professional procedures and practices to work problems of well-defined nature.
  • Work requires personal contact with faculty and staff members of other departments or organizational units, patients and their families, and/or in liaison activities with schools and other agencies.
