Position Overview
The School of Pharmacy seeks a full-time, nontenuretrack faculty member at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor to deliver high-quality learning experiences and education for students in the PharmD program. The successful candidate will engage in teaching, service, and scholarly activities, and will work collaboratively with the Director of Experiential Education, Department of Pharmacy Practice, and colleagues in the School of Pharmacy. Additionally, the faculty member will provide mentorship to students and contribute to the visibility, impact, and reputation of the University and its programs through scholarly engagement.
In addition to faculty responsibilities, this position will serve as the Regional Program Coordinator for Region 1 (Manhattan, Topeka, Lawrence, KC Metro). This role is responsible for the comprehensive coordination and support of experiential education sites and preceptors within the region. This work is essential to ensuring high-quality experiential learning experiences through effective site management, preceptor engagement, and continuous quality improvement. The role requires close collaboration with experiential education leadership, preceptors, and practice sites to support student learning and program outcomes. The selected candidate will also have responsibilities teaching laboratory and didactic courses within the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Subject matter expertise may include, but is not limited to, ambulatory care, community pharmacy, internal medicine, oncology, critical care, pediatrics, cardiology, or related areas. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, 12-month, faculty position with required travel. The position will primarily travel to visit preceptors in the Manhattan, Topeka, Lawrence, and KC Metro areas. This position will have set in-person days on the University of Kansas Lawrence campus and/or hybrid flexibility aligned with experiential education program needs. The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement between The University of Kansas and United Academics.
