| Position Purpose |
To assist in the administration of the Office of Community Standards & Accountability, the implementation of disciplinary procedures set forth in the Student Handbook, and the investigation, administration, and disposition of complaints and information concerning possible violations of the College's Standards of Conduct for both individual students and student organizations. The Assistant Director for Administrative Hearings directly manages a conduct caseload across levels of misconduct, coordinates key operational functions including scheduling and sanction compliance, serves as the primary Hearing Officer for Administrative Hearings. The Assistant Director also oversees community education efforts related to the College's Standards of Conduct. |

Education
- Masters degree in Counseling, Student Personnel, or Higher education, a Law degree (JD) or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
- Three to five years of experience in Student Affairs.
- Knowledge of database systems helpful.
- Knowledge of college judicial and residential education systems.
- Ability and interest in working collaboratively as part of a departmental and divisional team.
- Experience investigating or responding to Title IX complaints.
Skills & Knowledge
- Proven record of successful educational outreach and administrative experience.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Sound judgment, initiative and discretion in handling highly confidential and sensitive matters.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, listening and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive and productive relationships with all campus constituencies, including students, faculty, staff, parents and families, and alumni/e.
- Solid foundation in student development theory and student learning theory, and their application to professional practice in higher education and student affairs.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and proven effectiveness in serving the substance abuse and health and wellness needs of a diverse undergraduate and graduate student population.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible and long hours depending on department caseload.
- Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
