Job Description Summary

Are you passionate about protecting product quality and ensuring patient safety? As a QC Microbiology Technician, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the microbiological integrity of our manufacturing environments. Based onsite in Morris Plains, you will perform routine and batch-related environmental monitoring in controlled environments, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and helping uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.

Shift/Hours: Wednesday - Saturday, 12:00pm - 10:30pm (10-hour shifts)

Location: Morris Plains, United States

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and batchrelated environmental monitoring in controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Document laboratory activities accurately and in real time, following current Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Record, review, and maintain laboratory data in accordance with data integrity principles.
  • Support daily setup, operation, and maintenance of the environmental monitoring laboratory.
  • Incubate, read, and enumerate microbiological samples using cultured media.
  • Prepare microbiology samples and outofspecification media for shipment to contract laboratories.
  • Review and track microbiology results supporting timely product release.
  • Collect samples and analyze data supporting gowning qualification programs.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained, and functioning properly.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in microbiology or a closely related scientific field.
  • At least one year of experience in a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical laboratory.
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Experience performing environmental monitoring or microbiology testing.
  • Ability to document laboratory activities accurately while maintaining data integrity.
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and microbiological principles.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and laboratory methods.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience using a Laboratory Information Management System.
  • Familiarity with hazardous waste handling procedures in laboratory environments.

US Salary Transparency

The salary for this position is expected to range between $45,300 and $84,100per year.The final salary offered isdeterminedbased on factors like, but not limited to, relevant skills andexperience, and upon joiningNovartiswill be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the publishedsalary range based on company and market factors.Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of therole, eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.US-based eligible employees will receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes health,lifeanddisability benefits, a 401(k) with company contribution and match, and a variety of other benefits.
