Test Technician Description Molex Reliability Lab is seeking a talented Lab Test Technician to join our team in Lisle, Illinois, and support our globally diverse, multi-functional, Engineering teams. The ideal candidate is someone with the ability to be multi-functional and assist with hand soldering, visual inspection, dimensional analysis, cross sectioning, construction analysis, and additional sample fabrication steps prior to reliability testing. In this role, you will be responsible for hands on construction analysis, sample preparation, testing, troubleshooting, and root cause failure analysis of interconnect solutions throughout the product development cycle for the various business units throughout Molex. Responsibilities * Build/modify/prep connector assemblies, cable assemblies, modules, PC boards, load boards, etc. for various mechanical, environmental, & electrical tests using manual/automated tools and hand soldering equipment/techniques * Document and communicate test data, while applying critical thinking to properly analyze results * Cross Sections * Visual inspection at various magnifications, picture stitching * Dimensional measurements with reference to Engineering drawings * Glow Wire Testing * Work closely with various project managers to ensure efficient and timely project deliverables to customers * Develop and maintain standard operating procedure documents to ensure repeatable and reproducible test methods/results * Chemical Exposures Skills and Abilities * Proficient in reading and executing test plans * Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results and make corrections * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and in a team * Ability to remain flexible when changes arise Requirements * High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years' work experience in a related field; OR an Associate's degree and 1+ years' work experience in a related field required * Proficient with hand soldering equipment/techniques * Working knowledge of interconnect systems, twisted pair, coaxial conductors, etc. * Experience with any of the following wire preparation and termination techniques (crimped, soldered, welded) Preferred * IPC-A-610 Certification * Experience with measurement tools (i.e. drop gauge, caliper, crimp micrometer, dimensional measurements using microscope software) * Experience using lab equipment such as milli/micro-ohmmeter, microscopes, continuity meter, multimeter, etc. * Troubleshooting skills of interconnect systems to aid in root cause failure analysis * Experience using test plan development & management tools is a plus For this role, we anticipate paying $65,000- $75,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
