| Job Profile SummaryMeat Utility AssociatePay Rate: $19.50 per hourSchedule: Monday through FridayShift: 9:00 AM until production is completedInterview Type: In-PersonPosition OverviewThe Meat Utility Associate is responsible for supporting daily production operations in a refrigerated meat processing facility. This role assists in converting raw materials into finished products through processing, packaging, product handling, and sanitation activities. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a cold, fast-paced manufacturing environment.Essential Job DutiesResponsibilities may vary based on production needs and can include, but are not limited to:Operating packaging equipment, including Multi-Vac and other packaging machines.Packaging meat products for shipment and distribution.Opening meat products and de-boxing incoming materials.Carrying boxes and moving products throughout the production area.Performing manual handling and transfer of meat products.Building and assembling boxes for packaging operations.Moving production equipment as needed.Assisting with basic processing operations, including mixing, grinding, separating, and filtering products.Operating machine tools used in manufacturing and packaging processes.Supporting production line activities to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met.Performing basic sanitation and cleaning duties.Following all food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety procedures.Working collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals.Required Skills and QualificationsExperience working in a team environment preferred.Ability to adapt to changing production schedules and customer demands.Commitment to working until assigned production goals are completed.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.Willingness to be trained and learn new processes and equipment.Ability to follow instructions and maintain safety standards.Equipment UsedMulti-Vac packaging machinesPackaging equipmentBasic meat processing equipmentMaterial handling equipmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion throughout the shift.Ability to use hands, fingers, and limbs to operate processing and material handling equipment.Ability to distinguish product quality and freshness through sight and smell.Capability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding work in a production environment.Work EnvironmentRefrigerated processing and warehouse environment maintained between 32F and 40F.Cold and wet working conditions throughout the shift.Regular exposure to moving machinery, production equipment, and sharp surfaces.Fast-paced manufacturing setting focused on safety, quality, and productivity.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Required on Day 1: Non-slip work shoes.What to ExpectThis position involves a variety of production-support duties including packaging, processing, material handling, box assembly, equipment movement, and sanitation.
