Position Summary
We are seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our growing design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading interior design efforts from conceptual design through construction administration while collaborating closely with architects, engineers, consultants, and clients. This position requires strong design capabilities, technical expertise, project management skills, and knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, and industry best practices.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design Leadership


  • Develop creative interior design concepts and solutions for a variety of project types.
  • Prepare programming studies, space plans, design presentations, and finish concepts.
  • Lead the selection and specification of interior finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
  • Produce color boards, renderings, and presentation materials for client reviews.
  • Develop design narratives and support project pursuits and interviews.


Technical Documentation


  • Prepare and oversee interior design construction documents.
  • Develop detailed plans, elevations, sections, finish schedules, and specifications.
  • Coordinate interior design documentation with architectural and engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, accessibility standards, life safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and material samples.


Project Management


  • Manage interior design scope, budget, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors throughout project delivery.
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain communication with stakeholders.
  • Assist with construction administration activities, site observations, and punch list reviews.
  • Monitor project quality and ensure design intent is maintained through construction.


Team Development


  • Mentor junior designers and provide design guidance.
  • Participate in quality control reviews and internal design critiques.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and innovative studio culture.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.


Qualifications:
Required


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.
  • Current professional Interior Design license/registration in the state of practice or ability to obtain reciprocity.
  • NCIDQ Certification.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional interior design experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and materials.
  • Knowledge of ADA, accessibility standards, life safety, and applicable building codes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.


Preferred


  • Experience with Federal interiors and FF&E package development.
  • LEED Accredited Professional, WELL AP, or similar sustainability credential.
  • Experience with Enscape, Lumion, or comparable visualization tools.
  • Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously.
