JOB TITLE: Senior Event Manager

DEPARTMENT: Events

SUPERVISOR: Area Director, Meetings & Events

UPDATED: September 2026

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Responsible for coordinating and supervising assigned group business after it is turned over by the sales department through the closure of the event while maintaining profitable operations and high-quality products and service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain timely communication with clients throughout the planning process to assigned groups

2. Upsell definite programs to maximize food and beverage revenue and average check amount

3. Accurate and timely preparation of event orders, set-up diagrams, group resumes, and other informational forms

4. Supervise and attend the overall set up and implementation of events and meetings

5. Communicate with relevant departments to ensure proper service of accounts

6. Maintain accurate information and revenues in Delphi at all times to ensure accurate forecasting

7. Mentor members of the Conference Services Team based on assigned business segments

8. Support the sales team with client site visits

9. Perform other duties as assigned

MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. Thorough knowledge of service flow and capabilities in all revenue areas

2. Effective and professional written and verbal communication with internal and external guests

3. Ability to effectively network and market our property

4. Plan and conduct pre and post-convention meetings with clients and respective departments

5. Document tracking of group activity. Access and input data into a computer system to generate account history reports

6. Establish rapport with and entertain meeting planners while promoting hotel facilities and services. Conduct walking site inspections throughout the property

7. Introduce key operation personnel to client and/or on-site contact

8. Follow up with client after the function to ensure customer satisfaction

9. Able to work independently

ACCOUNTABILITY:

1. Ensure guest satisfaction by timely follow up correspondence

2. Adhere and support hotel and corporate policy and procedures

3. Maintain accurate administrative files

4. Be to work every day on time

5. Keep abreast of current market trends

6. Heavily attend community and business events

7. Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor and image of self and hotel

8. Support and monitor cleanliness and safety issues when touring the hotel

9. Be sales and profit minded

10. Stay through the entree course of any food function

EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED:

1. Able to use Microsoft Office Suite

2. Strong multiple - project management skills.

3. Good communication skills

4. Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently to interact with clients.

5. Ability to analyze client needs and negotiate pricing.

6. Ability to work under time pressures and extensive hours.

7. Minimum of 2-3 yr hotel/service experience, operational food and beverage experience preferred.

LICENSE OF CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

1. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school

2. College degree preferred.
