Job Summary The School of Education invites applications for an open-rank faculty position in English Education and Secondary Literacy. This position responds to a critical need in the field as schools navigate evolving standards, emerging digital literacies, and persistent disparities in literacy learning and achievement. Hiring at an open rank will allow the School to recruit either an emerging or established scholar whose expertise will strengthen our teacher preparation programs, graduate offerings, and historically strong Literacy Studies program.
The successful candidate will contribute to scholarship that advances knowledge of English and literacy toward equitable, inclusive, and culturally responsive literacy practices. They will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in English education, secondary literacy, and related areas of teacher learning and practice and will play a key role in preparing future educators to support diverse learners, including multilingual students. This position will also support continued program growth, partnerships with schools and communities, and sustainable teaching and mentoring capacity across undergraduate and graduate programs. What We Can Offer The salary range for this nine-month faculty role is $87,500 - $97,500 for Assistant Professor, $106,000 - $128,500 for Associate Professor, $131,500 - $165,000 for Professor, plus an $8,000 relocation allowance as applicable.
