Division Information

PACCAR'S Information Technology Division (ITD) is located in Renton, WA, utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications servicesto the entire corperation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.

About the Team

As a Security Operations Intern, you will work with the North America Security Operations team. SecOps is a critical team within PACCAR that has responsibility for the design, implementation, and management of all security systems along with incident response and monitoring.

The Role

PACCAR is looking for a curious, creative, and motivated individual that is passionate about cybersecurity and interested in learning more about cybersecurity operations in a Fortune 500 company. During your internship with PACCAR, you'll have the opportunity to explore new technologies, work with technical teams, and lead projects. Our internship program is designed to give you real world experience and develop skills to succeed within the technology and cybersecurity industry.

Job Responsibilities & Projects
  • Gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, and incident response within an enterprise environment.
  • Learn how to monitor and investigate security alerts generated from SIEM, EDR, identity, cloud, and email security platforms.
  • Develop foundational skills in security event analysis, threat hunting, and cybersecurity investigations.
  • Work alongside experienced security analysts and engineers to understand incident response processes and best practices.
  • Build knowledge of common cyber threats, attacker techniques, and defensive security controls.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Foundational IT & Cybersecurity knowledge gained through coursework, academic projects, internships, or other relevant experience
  • Security tool experience is desired
  • Able to present and discuss security-related topics confidently
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux Operating Systems
  • PowerShell and Python scripting is desired
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA)
Education

Preferred completed Undergraduate/Graduate degree in Cybersecurity, Technology, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
