Responsibilities

  • The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for providing evidence based nutrition assessment, counseling, and medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to patients across inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
  • This role collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient health outcomes, support recovery, and ensure compliance with federal, state (including Texas Department of State Health Services standards), and hospital regulations.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an ACEND accredited program.
  • Completion of an ACEND accredited Dietetic Internship or equivalent supervised practice.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Texas State Licensure (LD) or eligibility to obtain before start date.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Specialized certifications (CNSC, CDE/CDCES, CSO, CSR, etc.).
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic).
