The Clerk (Overhead Crane, Equipment Operator, and Stockman) position at BNSF Railway is responsible for operating heavy machinery to handle and transport materials, ensuring efficient stocking and distribution. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of essential supplies and equipment needed for rail operations and infrastructure maintenance by expertly managing material logistics. This is a full-time(40hrs/wk) position, subject to overtime and alternate shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts are governed by union agreement subject to seniority. Travel is minimal. Training for this position is company-paid on-the-job training. Key responsibilities may include: Overhead Crane Operator - operating cranes with a lifting capacity of 75,000 to 100,000 lbs., assist with blocking and bracing trailers and containers, and mount/dismount flatcars to lock/unlock loads. Equipment Operator - Operating, servicing, and inspecting various material handling equipment, including overhead cranes and forklifts, and assisting in rail switching operations, including hook work for cranes, and securing loads. Section Stockman - Ordering, tracking, and managing materials while maintaining accurate inventories of warehouse contents through receiving, shipping, disbursing, delivering, and storing materials. Along with providing accurate information to suppliers and customers regarding ordering and expediting materials, a Section Stockman operates material-handling equipment such as forklift trucks, stackers, equipment movers, and delivery vehicles. Stock Clerk - Ordering, receiving, shipping, disbursement, delivery, storage, and physical inventorying of warehouse materials, operates material handling equipment, and communicates with suppliers and customers regarding the ordering, tracking, and expediting of materials. Additional responsibilities - operating company trucks, trailers, tractor trailers, and other material handling equipment, maintaining accurate driver logs as required by safety regulations, and ordering, receiving, stocking, dispersing, loading, and unloading materials. Daily work is conducted in a safety sensitive environment where the working conditions can include diverse and extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet), walking and performing work on uneven surfaces, working around loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery.
