Product Marketing Manager Reporting to the Director, Power Grid Automation, the Product Marketing Manager owns the go-to-market strategy, positioning, and commercial enablement for G&W Electric's Power Grid Automation solution portfolio - spanning switchgear automation, high-accuracy sensing, and predictive-grid software and services. As the business shifts from selling individual products to selling integrated, outcome-based solutions, this role translates technical capabilities into clear customer value propositions, equips the sales channel to sell solutions rather than features, and builds the market presence that positions G&W Electric as a trusted advisor in grid modernization. This is a strategic, cross-functional marketing role that connects Product Management, Sales, and Engineering to accelerate adoption, solution attachment, and recurring-revenue growth across utility and commercial & industrial (C&I) / data center segments. As a Product Marketing Manager you will:
- Develop and own positioning, messaging, and differentiated value propositions for the Power Grid Automation solution portfolio, translating technical features into business outcomes and ROI that resonate with each customer persona and market segment.
- Lead go-to-market and launch strategy for new and existing solutions, coordinating across Product Management, Sales, and Marketing to align market readiness with the solution roadmap.
- Build sales enablement tools and solution-selling playbooks - use-case-to-business-case frameworks, segment playbooks, competitive battlecards, ROI tools, and pilot-to-scale conversion materials - that equip the direct sales team and representative network to sell integrated solutions rather than individual products.
- Drive thought leadership and digital presence - web content, application guides, case studies, and search visibility (SEO/AEO) - that helps customers understand their challenges and options before engaging Sales, establishing G&W Electric as a trusted advisor.
- Develop and maintain deep voice-of-customer and market insight - customer personas, buying journeys, and segment needs across utility, public power, IOU, C&I, and data center - and feed it back into product strategy and roadmap prioritization.
- Lead competitive intelligence: monitor competing solutions, pricing, and positioning, and equip the organization to clearly differentiate G&W Electric's solutions.
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering to shape pricing, packaging, and solution bundling - across hardware, software / SaaS, and services - to grow solution attachment and pull-through revenue.
- Support the solution-selling motion across utility and data center / C&I segments, including the design-in and specification motion required to win at operators, developers, and EPC partners.
- Define and track commercial KPIs - solution attachment rate, pipeline contribution, win rate, and content engagement - and use them to refine messaging and go-to-market tactics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Application Engineering, Sales, Aftermarket Support, and Operations to ensure a consistent solution narrative from first customer touch through deployment and renewal.
- Serve as the commercial voice in product and portfolio planning, ensuring market needs and differentiation help drive investment decisions.
- Help evolve the organization toward a solution-minded commercial model, supporting capability-building and long-term succession planning across the function.
We are looking for someone with:
- A Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, engineering, or a related technical field - or equivalent work experience.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in the power, utility, or grid-technology industry, including roles in product marketing, product management, business development, solutions marketing, or utility-side technology leadership (e.g., grid modernization, operations technology, advanced distribution, or AMI / metering).
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear customer value propositions, business cases, and ROI narratives.
- Strong understanding of the utility and/or C&I customer - buying process, decision drivers, and grid modernization priorities.
- Proven cross-functional leadership working across Product, Sales, Engineering, and executive stakeholders.
- Experience leading programs, portfolios, or go-to-market initiatives from strategy through execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, executive presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Experience with vendor / partner management and budget and governance accountability.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to travel up to approximately 25-30%, including occasional weekends as needed.
Ideally you will have:
- Advanced degree (MBA or a technical master's).
- Direct experience marketing or commercializing software / SaaS, sensing, or automation solutions - not hardware alone.
- Familiarity with solution-selling and value-selling methodologies (e.g., strategic selling and buy-sell hierarchy concepts).
- Hands-on knowledge of grid automation, protection & control, advanced distribution, AMI / MDM, GIS, or predictive analytics.
- Experience building digital / inbound marketing presence, search visibility (SEO/AEO), and thought-leadership content.
- Experience supporting recurring-revenue / ARR commercial models and growing solution attachment and pull-through.
- Familiarity with CRM (Salesforce) and marketing analytics tools
