Hazardous Materials Management System Program Support

A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

In support of DoD initiatives to improve the control of hazardous materials, the A/E will provide IT support to the HM Management Program at MCLB Albany. The primary purpose of this contract is to operate and maintain the Hazardous Material/Hazardous Waste Enterprise Application Software (HM/HW EAS). The HM/HW EAS is the information technology solution implemented to track the authorization, receipt, storage, movement, and use of hazardous materials (HM) while aboard the installation.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Hazardous Materials Management System Program Support: $85K-$90K

Pay commensurate with experience.

Hazardous Materials Management System Program Support Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain accurate HMMS data, including Authorized Use Lists (AULs), hazardous-material receipts, usage reports, inventory transactions, barcodes, and tenant-specific records.

  • Develop and maintain base-wide and tenant-specific AULs; process approved additions or removals in accordance with established authorization procedures.

  • Support HMMS users by troubleshooting database and barcode-printer issues, submitting support requests to HQMC, and directing password requests to the HQMC HMMS support representative.

  • Extract, validate, and prepare HMMS data for annual Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) submissions, regulatory reports, and ad hoc reporting requirements.

  • Conduct work-center site visits and audits to verify inventory, documentation, labeling, HMMS records, and hazardous-material processes comply with federal, state, DoD, and Marine Corps requirements.

  • Document audits, site visits, findings, and follow-up actions in the established tracking system to maintain data integrity and work-center compliance.

  • Update hazardous-material reporting SOPs, develop data-entry procedures, and provide recommendations for HMMS Hazardous Waste module implementation.

  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

This position supports Department of Defense (DoD) production and maintenance operations and requires adherence to applicable government, industry, and corporate procedures.

Hazardous Materials Management System Program Support Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • High school diploma or GED; associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum three years of relevant experience.
  • Require a minimum of three years of direct HMMS experience.
  • Require knowledge of the DLA cloud-based HMMS platform and service-specific implementation procedures.
  • Understand the full hazardous-material lifecycle, from purchase authorization and receipt through storage, use, waste processing, shipment, and final disposal.
  • Demonstrate experience managing hazardous-material inventories, AULs, SDS documentation, usage records, and barcode processes.
  • Apply applicable EPCRA, federal, state, DoD, and Marine Corps hazardous-material regulations, policies, and orders.
  • Use HMMS to research materials, reconcile inventory, extract data, and support compliance reporting.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, program managers, and HQMC support personnel.
  • Work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accurate, complete program documentation.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
  • Prefer five or more years of HMMS experience.
  • Prefer experience supporting hazardous-material management at a DoD or Marine Corps installation.
