Basic Job Functions:

  • Support the execution of First Solar, Perrysburg's (PBG) ISO 9001 certified Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Develop and maintain procedures and processes within the QMS in support of internal (Operations, Integration, Reliability, etc.) and external customers.
  • Ensure the quality of materials and products is maintained to meet required specifications.
  • Support internal/external (ISO, Customer, and Third Party) process and product audits.

Education/Experience:

  • 4-5yr - Bachelor's Degree (B.S. highly preferred) or 15 yrs related Quality experience required

  • ASQ Certification (CMI, CPT, CQA) desired

    10 yrs - Experience in Manufacturing Environment required

  • 10 yrs - Experience within ISO 9001 (or equivalent) Quality System required

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Attention to fine detail in both auditing on the floor and editing procedures
  • Self-motivated, yet able to actively participate in and support multi-functional teams

  • Ability to define and effectively communicate observations and problems (verbally and in writing)

  • Ability to collect, analyze, and report data from varied sources

  • Complete assignments and projects as directed, with minimal supervision
  • Proven, advanced proficiency of Advanced Quality Planning tools such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plan, Process Mapping, Gage Studies, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Proven, advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint)

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Act independently and lead cross-functionally, with minimal management direction to execute the functions of the position.
  • Responsible to define, implement and monitor quality systems and product control specifications in accordance with company policy and ISO standards.
  • Apply advanced quality planning tools to drive the successful qualification of new products and processes. Work with the product and process engineering teams to perform process interaction analysis utilizing the FMEA approach.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and controls, focusing on the application of FMEA, process monitoring and SPC methods.
  • Manage schedule of, and perform internal product and process audits; document and communicate results of audits.
  • Responsible for the training of personnel on Quality System requirements and procedures as required.
  • Provide reports on Process/Process health and performance to all levels of the organization for review and implementation of continuous improvement

  • Advocate for proper Quality Controls and procedures to drive KPI improvements and increase business ownership of Quality
  • Monitor QMS to ensure good execution (DCC, PCAR, NCP, IQA). Keep systems aligned to business needs and requirements and monitor KPIs
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to foster Quality Alignment and esprit de corps.
  • Act as Quality Representative to other departments, sites, and supplier representatives to continually improve business practices
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports to Site Quality Manager.

  • This position may have direct reports.

Travel:

  • 0% - 5% (On occasion/as needed for training, etc.)

  • Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Will climb stairs on a frequent basis.

  • Will push or pull up to 27 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
  • Will push or pull up to 10 pounds of force on a frequent basis.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis.
  • 20/40 vision in each eye (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green is required.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including, but not limited to; steel toed shoes, cut resistant gloves, jackets, aprons &/or arm guards, safety glasses, hearing protection).
