Job Summary Provides technical and administrative patient support to the ophthalmic care team, including Ophthalmologists, Orthoptists, and Residents. Supports the delivery of safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients and families in the outpatient ophthalmic clinic.Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Supports the care team in assessing patients and documenting responses and changes in condition. -Prepares patients for visual field testing and other ophthalmic assessments. -Obtains and documents patient history and chief eye complaints. -Supports efficient patient flow by coordinating testing and adjusting the sequence of activities based on patient and clinic needs. -Performs color vision, glare, and brightness testing. -Follows infection prevention and control policies and procedures. -Records and updates current eye medications, ophthalmic history, and relevant medical history in the patient's health record. -Maintains compliance with professional standards, organizational policies and procedures, applicable federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
