What to Expect
As an ElectrodeShift Controls Engineer at Tesla, you will play a key role in supporting production ramp for our innovative cell manufacturing equipment. After enhancing your skills and becoming a subject-matter expert on theElectrodeproduct, process, and controls you will help strengthen the skillset of the on-shift technician team through hands-on trainings, troubleshooting, and creation of documentation. You will escalate opportunities for improvement to the engineering team and will help identify and implement solutions to support our production ramp. The working schedule for this role is subject to change as business needs evolve, but typical working hours are fromeither6pm to 6amor 6am to 6pm, 4-days per week. Night shift differential is included with the night shiftschedule.
What You'll Do
- Respond to production escalations, recovering the tool in a timely manner, while utilizing that opportunity to train the on-shift technicians and document the root cause of the escalation to the engineering team
- Maintain and improve yield for the fleet through daily preventative and reactive actions
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify opportunities and drive solutions
- Maintain and improve availability for the fleet daily preventative and reactive actions
- Investigate quality escapes and correct tools which have beenshut downdue to nonconforming product
What You'll Bring
- At least 1 internship or equivalent work experience working with controls systems (PLCs, HMIs, DCS, etc.)
- Must provide examples of: first principles thinking, questioning the requirement, innovative solutions
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline: Controls and Computer Control Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, etc., or equivalent experience
- Experience in high-speed winding, roll-to-roll, battery cell manufacturing, Pulp and Paper, or any other continuous process is preferred
