Staff Designer, UI Design

The Tesla Design teamis responsible for the user interface of all vehicles and the mobile app. As a Staff UI Designer, you will research, design, innovate, and prototype new user experiences across Tesla's product portfolio. Candidates should have exceptional design skills, a great sense of aesthetics, and user-centered design principles aimed at maximizing customer delight.

• Apply knowledge of UI design to develop mock-ups, new interaction models, and navigation schemes
• Develop pixel perfect comps and assets for all projects
• Create and make decisions that implement a design language consistent throughout the Tesla UI platform (in-car, mobile, etc.)
• Strategicallyimagine, conceive of, manage, and drive UI design projects from concept to implementation
• Act as liaison to provide feedback and ensure design integrity of projects between Interaction Designers, Software Engineers, and Project Managers
• Analyze and interpret recommendations from other business groups in order to prioritize functions and develop a project roadmap with Project Managers

• 7+ years of experience in interaction design, prototyping, and complex design systems
• A strong portfolio of 3D work
• Experience using AI coding tools to produce frontend code
• Passion for interactive data visualization
• Experience building foundational layout and typographic systems
• A track record of developing new interaction models for different form factors and interfaces (Mobile counts)
