In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Mammography duties: Evaluates physical conditions related to medical imaging of breast tissue.A clinical technologist role that has specialized knowledge or skills gained through a combination of vocational education, training, and experience. This role will be most commonly applied to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory jobs. An experienced level role requiring basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and requiring vocational or technical education. Works under moderate supervision, works through problems of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures and communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation. Job Overview Under the direction of the clinical supervision, performs a wide variety of duties to provide mammography services for patients in accordance with physician orders. Position requires minimal supervision, independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative while maintaining the standards necessary to allow Radiologist to make an accurate interpretation. Assumes responsibility for designated areas, and procedures. Participates in Quality Assurance program and relative clerical aspects as required. Job Description Minimum Qualifications: 1. Graduate of approved School of Radiological Technology. 2. Mammography state license. 3. Mammography Technologist Certification (ARRT). 4. Two (2) years of experience as a Mammographer. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. 1. Identifies patient and reviews each requisition, for consistency of order with clinical diagnosis and demographic information. Records patient history accurately noting unusual conditions/ limitations, difficulties. 2. Anticipates and responds appropriately to patient needs, assuring personal dignity i.e. covers patients. Detects and responds to all symptoms of anxiety with tact and compassion. 3. Review each examination for technical accuracy and do not submit films that are technically inadequate. Document any problems in attaining satisfactory results. Knows to take additional views as needed. 4. Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification on all images. 5. Follows facility protocols for exam routines and produces quality studies in an efficient, timely manner. 6. Is competent to operate all equipment and uses ancillary apparatus as required or has requested training in the specific areas. Adjust controls of machine in compliance with established methods and procedures. 7. Performs QA procedures as required in accordance with ACR, MQSA, States and JACHO standards. 8. Organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first. 9. Initiates applicable "variance reports" by end of shift and reports incomplete and incorrect orders to ensure the proper patient charge and continuity of care. 10. Reports all equipment failures and any safety hazards that could harm patients, visitors, or other hospital employees to appropriate supervisors and/or service people immediately. 11. Successfully deliver competent care to adult patients with an emphasis on the needs of geriatric patients. Physical Requirements: 1. Occasionally sitting, Frequent standing, walking, and lifting of 15+ lbs. Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate radiology equipment. 2. Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate equipment. 3. Hearing and visual acuity sufficient to perform examinations, observe patients, read monitors and documents. Hear equipment alarms. Skills & Abilities: 1. Knowledge of medical terminology. 2. Clerical skills. 3. Basic computer skills. 4. Ability to follow directions and detailed oriented. 5.
