Role: Power Apps and Power Automate Developer (Data Governance)
Duration: 6 months with a potential for extension/conversion
Location: Austin, TX, or Westlake, TX-4 days onsite/week
Our Opportunity:
The Data Governance Tools organization is seeking an experienced Power Apps and Power Automate Developer to deliver innovative solutions that automate governance processes, improve operational efficiency, and enhance enterprise data management capabilities. This role will collaborate with Data Governance teams, Data Stewards, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Technology partners to build scalable solutions supporting data governance, compliance, workflow automation, and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will help modernize governance processes using Microsoft Power Platform technologies while ensuring that solutions align with enterprise architecture, security standards, and governance requirements.
What you'll do:
- Design, develop, and support enterprise Power Apps solutions that streamline data governance and operational processes.
- Develop and maintain Power Automate workflows to automate approvals, notifications, exception handling, and governance controls.
- Create user-friendly applications that support data inventory, metadata management, stewardship, issue management, and regulatory workflows.
- Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Dataverse, Azure services, APIs, and enterprise data platforms.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, document user stories, and develop scalable solutions.
- Build dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI to support governance metrics and operational reporting.
- Develop reusable components, templates, and automation frameworks to improve solution delivery.
- Monitor production solutions, troubleshoot issues, and implement continuous improvements.
- Promote Power Platform best practices including application lifecycle management, security, compliance, and governance standards.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, release planning, testing, and deployment activities.
- Produce technical documentation, operational support procedures, and user training materials.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual governance processes and reduce operational risk.
Required skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Experience with Dataverse, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 integrations, and custom connectors.
- Strong understanding of Power Platform architecture, security, and administration.
- Experience designing automated workflows, approval processes, and business process automation solutions.
- Knowledge of data governance, data management, metadata, data quality, and stewardship concepts.
- Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with enterprise systems and APIs.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting enterprise Data Governance or Data Management platforms.
- Knowledge of Informatica CDGC, CDQ, Collibra, or similar governance technologies.
- Experience with Power BI reporting and dashboard development.
- Familiarity with Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience supporting audit, compliance, risk, or regulatory programs.
- Knowledge of data lineage, metadata management, data cataloging, and governance operating models.
- Microsoft Power Platform certifications or related certifications.
- Financial services industry experience.
- Experience building governance workflows for data issue management, stewardship, certification, or data inventory processes.
