The Per Diem Speech Pathologist functions under the direction of the Chief Speech Pathologist to provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment for pediatric through geriatric patients within the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department. This position practices with a high degree of clinical autonomy, providing specialized care for patients with complex communication, cognitive, swallowing, voice, fluency, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) needs while developing individualized treatment plans that promote functional independence and optimize patient outcomes. Working collaboratively with physicians, rehabilitation specialists, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary teams, the Per Diem Speech Pathologist provides consultation, education, and clinical expertise to healthcare professionals, patients, families, and community partners. This position also supports care coordination, including insurance authorization activities, while contributing to the delivery of exceptional, patient-centered rehabilitation services in a collaborative academic medical center.
