Position Summary

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a presence inside and outside of the business in order to deter illegal or harmful activity and to report such activity if observed. The Security Officer will work to ensure the safety of patients, visitors and staff in the center and on the campus. Maintaining good public relations with all visitors, staff and patients.

Key Performance Areas

KPA 1 - Safety

  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
  • Report any unusual cars or activity, enforce parking regulations and traffic control.
  • Provide escort service to staff and visitors when requested.
  • Check rooftops to make sure they are locked if no one is on the roof.

KPA 2 - Monitor, Inspect, & Document

  • Monitor entrance and exits to the facility, either at guard station or by closed-circuit television, and act to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry.
  • Make notes of facility damage (inside and out) and report to Property Manager Supervisor.
  • Keep a daily log of all activities and calls for service. Fill out security report after every round
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.

KPA 3 - Emergency Response

  • Respond to all alarm activations and investigate cause.
  • Respond to calls for assistance to control disorderly or combative patients or visitors.
  • Assists with local police, fire, and emergency services
  • Understands floor plan of the business, all the normal and emergency entry and exit points for emergency evacuations.
  • Obtain help by sounding alarms

KPA 4 - Customer& Business Relationship

  • Provide assistance to business, customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Possible Service on the safety committee.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Pick up random trash on the center's grounds
  • Performs vehicle assistance (tire changes, jump starts, lock-outs, etc.) as required and appropriate
Position Qualifications
Education
  • High School diploma/GED

Minimum Relevant Experience

  • Minimum one year experience in a security environment strongly preferred.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Valid state Driver's License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.
