Cytology Coordinator Q/A - Irving, TX, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay range: $21.42+ per hour

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. The Coordinator, QA assists department management and is responsible for conducting audits of all Cytology Processing processes to ensure the department maintains high standards in quality and compliance. For example, the QA auditor could perform the following audits: Department and individual compliance audits, department and individual error tracking, and department and individual productivity tracking.



Responsibilities:

  • MAINTAINS CONFIDENTIALITY AT ALL TIMES. Will have access to overall employee and department performance. May have knowledge of disciplinary actions upto, andincluding termination. May have knowledge related to departmental performance that could be detrimental ifreleased to the wrong environment.
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of job duties and SOP's related to Cytology Processing in a production setting.
  • Conducts all regularly scheduled departmental audits, but not limited to just these audits. Additional, audits may be requested.
  • Conducts audits comparing the requisition demographics and test information to the information that was entered into the laboratory information system during the data entry process.
  • Identifies and documents any defects in the data entry process, using department defect definitions as a guide.
  • Generates reports on quality and productivity to department supervisors.
  • Maintains and reports department quality/productivity data monthly. This includes compliance audits and Best Practice Team reports.
  • Researches, responds,recordsand submits additional errors regarding department quality to the department supervisor or manager as needed.
  • Provides appropriate feedback to supervisors and manager when problems arise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Give immediate employee feedback regarding any errors discovered.
  • Able to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Maintains composure while working under pressure.
  • Reflects good judgment at all timeswhen determining what action to take when resolving problems.

Required WorkExperience:

Must have at least 3 years of experience in a laboratory environment or a production setting

Preferred Work Experience:



  • Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinicallaboratory.
  • Previous analysis experience preferred.


Physical and Mental Requirements:



  • Must have good finger dexterity.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work at a computer for long periods of time.


Education



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)
