Quality Assurance Engineer

Pay Range: $ 43-50

Core Responsibilities

* Apply quality principles in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products.

* Perform technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures.

* Collaborate with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place.

* Engage in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action.

* Ensure corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements.

* Develop strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity.

* Evaluate quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.

* Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conduct product quality tests, perform statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.

* Engage in the supplier selection process and certification programs.

* Leverage Tableau dashboards and predictive analytics to monitor production metrics and identify trends for actionable next steps.

* Responsible for supplier evaluation, verification of special processes, supplier oversight - including development and execution of return-to-green plans.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline and 5 years of related experience.

* Knowledgeable in surveillance of AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management Systems and experience with AS9102 first article inspections or APQP

* Technical experience with mechanical and/or electrical products, including manufacturing processes, interpretation of technical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and military and industry specifications.

* Experience with Supplier Quality and/or Quality Engineering principles, including nonconformance dispositions, failure analysis, and driving systemic root cause and corrective action utilizing quantitative and qualitative analytical methods.

* Understanding of basic manufacturing requirements and quality engineering systems.

* Strong communication skills - adept at collaborating across sites and program teams.

Desired Skills

* Experience supporting supplier selection, contract reviews, readiness reviews and performing risk analyses.

* Experience and familiarity with machining and manufacturing practices.

* Tableau and other data visualization platforms for quality tracking.

* Certifications like Lean Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving methods or CQE, CSQP or CMQ/OE certification.

* Experience with commodities such as CCAs, cabling assemblies, and box-level components.
