UVA Health's New Graduate Registered Nurse Residency Program (NRP) is designed for recent nursing graduates from Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) programs who are ready to transition into professional practice within a nationally recognized academic health system. This program offers a direct, supported pathway from graduation into meaningful clinical roles across inpatient, specialty areas, and ambulatory settings. The Role As a New Graduate Registered Nurse at UVA Health's University Medical Center, you step directly into a clinical role that balances high acuity patient care with intentional professional development. You are hired into a specific unit and grow within that practice through a thoughtfully designed residency experience. In this role, you will:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. Experience: No experience required. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. Benefits
